This collectable teapot was made in England by the prestigious Wedgwood brand that was founded by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1700s, to whom the 'Potter to Her Majesty' title was granted. His tea ware has supplied tea ware to the royal households since the time of Queen Charlotte, as well as many other and many other illustrious Heads of State, such as in the Vatican, and the White House. This particular teapot is made from stone jasperware, which is a type of pottery first developed by Josiah Wedgwood himself in the 1770s. It is black with a stunning Neoclassical design in white. (This teapot is part of collection. Please see the milk jug / creamer that matches this tea pot in a separate listing.)
